southern cemeteryThe biggest culture shock for my grandmother was the cemeteries, or some of them.  We were driving up to Durham when she noticed an old church along the snaking highway.
“Oh my God Lori…did you see that?”
Was she talking to my mom or me?  It was no surprise that she confused us; people would always exclaim at social events, “Oh, I don’t need any introduction, this is obviously your daughter”.
My mom was too busy driving, it was drizzling and the road was notorious for bikers.
“What?” I asked.
